Yes. All staff will be DBS checked before/upon hiring.

What are your health and safety precautions?

The welfare of all our staff, children, participants and spectators is our primary concern. We make sure the venue is appropriate for everyone on site with on-site risk assessments regularly checked. Staff are all trained on how to take necessary policies and procedures with two first-aiders always on-site, one of whom will be a senior member of staff. Training includes aspects of health and safety such as hygiene, safeguarding, managing behaviour, first aid and more. All the activities that take place have been checked prior to ensure they are safe and enjoyable.

Health and Safety checklists are completed before every session and staff will continuously monitor the activities to check everything is safe including equipment and any individuals on-site.

Children will always be supervised at all times, including any bathroom visits (adult will remain outside). If you require any further clarification, please do get in touch.

What is your policy on bullying?

We have a zero-tolerance on bullying. All matters will be taken seriously and where appropriate, those responsible will be removed from the premises.

What are the session times?

TBA (To be announced). Please register your interest so we can gather data on what time would be most suitable for your child’s age group.

Are there any forms we need to complete prior to our first session?

Once you have registered your interest, we will email you a form you will need to complete. The form will include the emergency details and some vital health information about your child including current medical conditions such as asthma / anaphylaxis.

What sports do you play?

We are unique in the sense that each session will be different. A list of sports we cover include:

Athletics, Basketball, Benchball, Cricket, Dodgeball, Football, Handball, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and more.

It is my child’s first time attending, is there anything we need to do?

Step 1: Make sure you have completed the mandatory form emailed to you upon registration.

Step 2: Relax. Let us do all the hard work. Our welcoming staff will quickly put your child at ease to help them settle in smoothly and feel part of the Atlantis family. We are all here because we share the same passion and values, we look forward to welcoming you and your child to create some wonderful memories together!

My child is a bit nervous coming on their own

Not to worry, that is why we are here. You can’t go through life hiding away from all your problems hoping they will go away. Let’s battle this fear together and we guarantee you will have a great time. You will make friends in no time and we will make sure you can stay with them in the activities.

We have a zero-tolerance policy on any form of bullying/abuse of any kind. You can be sure that we take care of all our children and you have nothing to fear when here. We are here to look after you, protect you, and make sure you have fun.

What happens upon drop-off / pick-up?

When you arrive at the venue, drop your child off to a member of staff who will then take care of them until the end of the session. Please arrive promptly for pick-up and collect your child from a member of staff.

We can only allow your child to leave us unattended if we have received written confirmation that you, the parent/guardian, has allowed them to vacate the premises by themselves.

My child has a medical condition, can they still come along?

Of course, but you must inform us in the medical form you complete. The more you can tell us about your child, the better quality of care we can provide for them. If you have any doubts or concerns with your child’s ability to participate in sport, please contact your local GP.

What does my child need to bring?
  1. Medical form upon initial session. Without this we can not accept your child into our premises for health and safety reasons.
  2. Suitable clothing:
    1. Trainers (suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities)
    2. Comfortable sports clothing. Your child will be active so they should be comfortable whilst with us. We do offer child t-shirts at a discounted rate for those who have joined. Get in touch if you would like one.
  3. Water! Please do not forget to bring water. You will be able to refill it at the venue.
  4. Sun screen for when outdoors (hopefully we get some sun)
  5. A positive energy! No problem if you’re having one of those days, we will try our best to turn that frown upside down (fingers crossed)
What should my child not bring?

Valuables. We strongly advise against valuables being brought into our sessions as we are not held responsible for any theft/loss of items. We will try to keep items and bags as safe as possible however cannot guarantee 100% safety. If there is any emergency / need to contact, you can always contact our staff on the day – number will be provided.

Older children may need to bring their phones, that is fine as long as they have been made aware of the risk and that it should remain in their bags at all times.

What should I do if my child has left something at the session?

Contact a member of staff immediately on the contact number provided to you and let them know. Anything we find at the end of the session, we will either contact you immediately (if named) or pass over to the venue to keep in their lost property.

What if my child has an accident?

These things happen – we wish we could say we are accident-free but we are well prepared for any circumstance. At each session there will be at least two qualified first-aiders, one of whom will be a senior member of staff. Should there be any serious concern you will be contacted immediately.

I don’t want any pictures of my child to be posted online

A lot of our sessions will be photographed / filmed to be put onto social media platforms. We understand if you do not want your child to be included in this; there is a section in the initial form we provide you upon registering where you can inform us of your decision. If there is any change in the details you have given us, contact us.

Are the staff DBS checked?

Yes. All staff will be DBS checked before/upon hiring.
